Buda Juice is the story of Horatio Lonsdale-Hands and Bernard Lucien Nussbaumer, a Brit and Swiss who grew up together in Lausanne, Switzerland. The two re-connected in Dallas and picked up their friendship where they left off…only this time they traded in Swiss cheese and chocolate for raw veggies and fruits.
The two realized Dallas didn’t quite have the juice they were searching for, but the real essence of Buda Juice is a story of their children. Bernard and Horatio each have four. After lots of trial and error and doctor visits, it turned out that Horatio’s oldest son has several food allergies that affect multiple aspects of his life in unexpected ways. The end result is that he must eat clean, organic, gluten- and dairy-free, and most importantly chemical-free or he has a very rough time.
The brain-food connection is so powerful, that there was no other path for Buda Juice to take than to be certified organic, glass bottled, GMO-free, pesticide-free, chemical free veggies and fruits juiced to perfection. Buda Juice had to be something clean enough and delicious enough that they could give it to their kids daily to fuel their energy and to keep them feeling and performing their best.
The partnership is also a fun culmination of the founders’ talents and past experiences. It brings together the leadership and vision of Horatio (who co-created ZuZu Handmade Mexican Food as well as Nipper’s Champagne and Caviar clubs) with the free spirit and energy of Bernard (who is an avid yogi, photographer, and film producer). The two are entrepreneurs who have traveled the world, lived in LA (the epicenter of local and organic where they soaked up the Zen vibe), and are now re-balancing their lives with Buda Juice.
The two are ultimately inspired to help others along the path to better health, to feeling and performing their best, and to being happy.
